A signature process consists of sending one or more files to be signed by one or more signatories. In Certyfirma, a signature process is equivalent to a credit that is deducted from the process author’s account at the moment it is sent.
With Certyfirma you will be able to electronically sign PDF files in a secure way.
After sending a document for electronic signature, you will be able to see updates of the document status in real time during the whole signing process in the Certyfirma control panel.
Once the recipient(s) have electronically signed the document, you will be able to download it together with the electronic signature certificate.
In case there are several people who have to sign a document, you can set a signing order to specify when each signer will be able to view and electronically sign the agreement. This order ONLY applies if “serial signature” is selected, since if you select “parallel signature” each signer will be able to sign whenever he/she wants.
Our electronic signature certificate includes:
- Data of the consignment: Title, Name of the originator, name of the signatories (addressees)
- Signature record data: signature record identifier, timestamp (date and time) of the signature and data of the blockchain network where the signature was recorded.
- Document(s) data: name(s), registered fingerprint (hash) and fingerprint algorithm used.
CertyFirma is a tool developed on iCommunity’s iBS platform. This means that it integrates with it through the APIs that this platform exposes to end applications, so any other external business solution that wants to integrate signature and identity verification functionalities based on blockchain technology could do it through these APIs.
If you are interested in integrating these functionalities into your enterprise solution, or developing a new solution that makes use of this blockchain-based signature and certification functionality, please contact us and we will be happy to advise you.
Thanks to the use of public blockchains, electronic signatures made through Certyfirma will always be accessible and persist, even if the user unsubscribes from the service.
This turns the signature certifications issued by Certyfirma into digital evidences fully available over time.
CertyFirma uses advanced technology, such as blockchain-based electronic signatures, to guarantee the integrity and validity of an entire document with a single digital signature. This eliminates the need to sign each individual page of a document, offering a more efficient and practical solution.
When a document is sent to be signed with Certyfirma, it is encrypted with a unique fingerprint that protects all its content from possible alterations.
That is why it is not necessary to sign each page, since the integrity of the document is assured from the very moment it is sent thanks to its digital fingerprint.
Yes, with Certyfirma this is possible and secure, thanks to the encryption system used for signatures, based on blockchain technology. Only the user himself can access to his signatures with his private password, which guarantees the security in the reuse of signatures, having this way the comfort of not having to repeat the creation of it with each signature.
The legal validity of the signatures provided by CertyFirma is based on the compliance with the regulations established by the eIDAS regulation of the European Union (Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014), UETA and E-SIGN in the USA, as well as similar regulations that exist in other countries (Mexico, Chile, Colombia,…), so we can guarantee the compliance and security of your signatures wherever you are. The advanced electronic signatures provided by CertyFirma are designed to comply with the legal requirements of all these regulations, which gives them a high level of legal validity in the digital environment.
iCommunity, owner and marketer of Certyfirma, is also a trusted electronic services provider authorized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation of the Spanish Government.
The signature certifications issued by CertyFirma are backed by blockchain technology, which guarantees the integrity, authenticity and traceability of each digital signature made on the platform. Blockchains or “blockchain” have the same consideration as the public notaries that we all know and use regularly (notaries, land registry, commercial registry, etc.).
This approach complies with the standards required for the legal validity of advanced electronic signatures, providing a solid legal basis for documents digitally signed with CertyFirma, in accordance with European Union regulations.
To create your digital signature it is first necessary to verify your identity with an official identification document valid in your country, including your photo and your personal data (full name, date of birth, date of issue and expiration, …).
Here is a list of the documents we accept for each country:

If your country is not on this list or you have any questions, please contact us at.
CertyFirmal’s digital identity (also known as “identity 2.0” or “virtual identity”), is everything that identifies you univocally in the application and provides legal validity to your signatures. It conforms to the identity verification (KYC) that occurs during the registration process, where you are asked for your personal data, photographs and a valid identity document from your country.
It is based on the same identity verification process already used by banks and other online service providers and creates a unique digital identity protected under encryption, so that only you can access it for use. That is why it is necessary to verify the identity of each user/signer before making any signature.
Once verified, your digital identity is created. Subsequently, when a user wants to use his digital identity to sign, the system decrypts through biometrics the access to the digital identity to be used in a signature process.
X.509 digital certificates are used both to sign electronically and to carry out the authentication or identity verification process. The disadvantage is that their use is not widespread in all countries and that they are based on a centralized validation system (root certification authority).
In addition, when it comes to signing with mobile devices, it is very uncommon for the signer to have his digital certificate installed on his device, thus losing functionality.
Certyfirma replaces these two features of digital certificates with two other mechanisms:
- identity verification based on biometrics and documents: this seems so complicated, but it is exactly the same as what notaries do (when you sign in person) or when you contract online a financial product, insurance, etc. (also called KYC or “Know Your Customer”).
- cryptography-based signature certified by blockchain: we use the same encryption algorithms that digital certificates use, but we also record the fingerprints of those signatures in a decentralized registry (blockchain) and public, to provide traceability over the entire process and accessibility to allow verification of the signatures anywhere in the world.
With Certyfirma you can sign ALL types of private documents.
This kind of documents represent more than 95% of the daily life of a company or individual: work contracts, commercial documents (invoices, budgets, etc.), confidentiality agreements (NDA), forms, applications, authorizations, consents, lease contracts, purchase and sale agreements, meeting minutes, financial reports, certificates, audit reports… Only those documents in which the use of a digital certificate is expressly required for their legal validity (such as those requested by a Public Administration) would not have legal validity when signed with Certyfirma.
Thus, CertyFirma’s versatility allows the digital signature of a wide range of documents, providing security, legal validity and traceability in each signature, regardless of the type of document you need to sign in the digital environment.
iCommunity, the company responsible for CertyFirma, is registered as a “non-qualified trust service provider entity” so it complies with all the requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 (known as eIDAS Regulation) to provide electronic signature services.
CertyFirma offers an advanced electronic signature solution that complies with the standards and requirements established by eIDAS, providing a level of security and legal validity for signing documents in the digital environment. An advanced electronic signature, according to eIDAS, meets certain specific requirements to guarantee its validity and legality in the digital context. These requirements include:
- Exclusive relationship with the signatory: The advanced electronic signature is linked exclusively to the signatory and the information he/she signs, allowing the signatory to be identified.
- Ability to identify the signer: The signature allows the signer to be identified and confirms that only the signer has control over the data used to sign.
- Signature data under exclusive control: The data used to create the advanced electronic signature is under the exclusive control of the signer during the signing process.
- No alteration of the signed data: Any modification after the signature is detectable.
CertyFirma is an advanced electronic signature solution that differs from other solutions on the market in that it replaces the typical digital certificate (centralized identity verification) with a decentralized digital identity system, based on biometric verification and blockchain certification. In this way, both the identity verification process and the signature cycle process are significantly simplified, by eliminating the barriers to the use and availability of digital certificates, mainly in certain countries and environments (mobile devices) where users do not have a digital certificate. Besides this, Certyfirma provides traceability of the complete signature cycle, being able to prove at any time the details of the process in front of audits or legal processes.
In this way, Certyfirma democratizes the use of digital signatures in any environment and country, facilitating its use and availability. This is a great advantage over other similar solutions that use the traditional system of digital certificates.
Blockchain is a decentralized registry technology that allows storing information in a secure and transparent way.
At CertyFirma, we use blockchain to certify and protect each digital signature made in our processes. This system guarantees the integrity and immutability of signed documents, eliminating the need for conventional digital certificates.
Blockchain technology also allows us to create an unalterable record of each signature, generating a time stamp for each step of the signature cycle. This provides complete traceability, ensuring authenticity and trust in each document signed with CertyFirma.
